This residential course is offered to saints of all ages, 18 and up, who are in Churches of God. It is intended to help them in their individual lives of service for the Lord Jesus, and also to directly help the Churches from which they come in their particular circumstances. It focuses on what God wants Churches of God to be and how to operate, based on a study of the Acts of the Apostles.
The course consists of 11 topics (28 one-hour sessions), incorporating presentations (with visual support and group discussion), small group discussions and interactive work sessions. The pace is geared to each group to ensure everyone is able to participate fully. More information on the course content can be obtained from your assembly correspondent in the form of a Course Profiler.
Because of space constraints, and because the course is highly participative, attendance is limited to 18 participants. There are no prerequisites as to knowledge or experience, only a willingness to learn and to apply. A detailed workbook and other material will be provided.
The course will begin on the Saturday evening after dinner and conclude on the following Friday evening, with departure on the Saturday morning after breakfast. One afternoon, and part of two afternoons, are left open for free time. Participants are also invited to the Swindon Assembly Remembrance and prayer meetings, to be held at the same location.
The course will be held at Flaxlands Manor Farm (the home of Colin & Margaret Jarvis, and Alistair & Esther Taylor) near Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire, England.
Saturday, September 4 (4 p.m.) to Saturday, September 11, 2010 (10 a.m.).
Ask your Assembly Correspondent for a copy of the Course Brochure which includes a tear-off application slip. Applications should then be sent to Lindsay Woods of Cullybackey Assembly by May 31, 2010 at the latest, who will confirm attendance – remember that only 18 people can be accommodated. The fee is £100, payable with the application. Please make cheques payable to Churches of God and crossed A/C Payee.
