"Lords Day, April 2, 1939 will long be remembered as a good day, and especially because of the planting of the assembly of God in this city."
So began a communique about the Church of God in Vancouver.
The local church was "planted' or came into existence on April 2nd, 1939 after two missionaries, George Prasher Jr. and George Horne, began a work in Vancouver in December 1938. Meetings were held in private homes at first. Initially there were 19 in the church and we began to grow from there.
Our church group acquired a hall at 563 West 19th Avenue and met there for many years until we moved to a new site where we presently meet, at 506 West 60th Avenue. Please feel free to join us at any service.

Over the years we have had the privilege of working with children both at summer camps and in Sunday School. Our first camp was on Saltspring Island and then we camped at Parksville at Rathtrevor Beach. Presently, we join with the children each year at the Ruth Morton site in Point Roberts USA.
